Pudu Prison Now

In June 2009, government has finally decided to demolish Pudu Prison as it is said to interfere the economic growth in Kuala Lumpur.
People gathered at Pudu Prison
A lot of people tried to block this project, as Pudu Prison was one of Malaysia's heritage. But the government decided to continue it because Pudu Prison is not something to be proud of.
During the demolish

Pudu Prison in 2013
After a year, in June 2010, the eastern wall of the Pudu Prison complex was demolished to make way for a road-widening project. And by December 2012, all the buildings within the Pudu Prison complex were completely demolished, with only a part of the exterior wall and main gate still standing.
To be said that prison site will be developed, and a hotel will be built.

Guess who are the guests of that hotel? Hopefully, it is not the spirit of Botak Chin, Mona Fandey and other prisoners........
